Valuation Notices - 2024

Pennington County Valuation Notices

The 2024 Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings, as well as the open book meetings, will begin in mid-April.  2024 valuations are used to calculate the 2025 taxes on real estate and the 2024 taxes on personal property mobile homes.

The 2024 Assessment is based on Pennington County sales in the study period October 1st, 2022, to September 30th, 2023, then are adjusted for inflation or deflation to January 2nd, 2024; in accordance with MN Department of Revenue requirements.

It is essential that we are proactive and adjust our values at the local level otherwise the Minnesota Department of Revenue will adjust our values to meet their requirements.

After you receive your valuation notice if you have any questions, we advise you to go to the Pennington County website Assessor’s Department page for some helpful information.  View the “Frequently Asked Questions”, “14 Reasons Why Property Taxes Vary from Year to Year”, “Recent Sales” and the “Appeals Process” tabs.

If you still have questions or concerns, please contact the Assessor’s Office at (218) 683-7029, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The Local Board of Appeal and Equalization and the Local Open Book Meetings begin April 16th, 2024 and go through May 7th, 2024.
